Music of San Martín and the Huallaga selva circuit

From MuGlobe.com

Summary

San Martín’s connected Moyobamba, Tarapoto and Huallaga circuits provide a specific Peruvian selva listening route. Amazonian cumbia is important alongside other tropical, urban and Andean exchange, rather than treating Tarapoto as only an Andean station.[1]

Contemporary and trending

The existing Amazonian cumbia collection offers several named bands and versions. Regional and wider Peruvian dance repertoire remain available together.

History

Electric-guitar cumbia and later band arrangements circulated between selva towns, the coast and larger recording networks. Loreto and Ucayali have related but distinct contributions; San Martín should not disappear from that geography.[1]

Genres

Cumbia amazónica; Chicha; Cumbia; Latin pop; Reggaeton; Huayno. These choices have different communities and performance roles; one playlist does not describe every resident.

Artists

Los Mirlos, Los Wembler’s and Juaneco y su Combo provide different recorded entrances in the existing collection. Their home communities and specific versions remain individually credited.
