Summary
Forró pé-de-serra names an acoustic-centred performance tradition and social-dance world within Forró. Accordion, zabumba and triangle are emblematic, while rabeca, pífano, voices and other additions complicate any rule that only a three-piece ensemble belongs. It encompasses several rhythms rather than one exclusive beat.

Geography and communities
The map distinguishes a connected Sertão–Agreste landscape, its coastal connections, southeastern migrant and dance networks, and Brasília/Entorno. Those settings share repertoire without identical audience composition. The southeastern interpretation is supported by documented cross-city circuits; intermediate communities belong to that landscape rather than disappearing between metropolitan pins.

Artists
Luiz Gonzaga, Dominguinhos and Trio Nordestino are major reference points. Contemporary practice also includes Mestrinho, Trio Virgulino and women-led initiatives such as Forró das Minas; that collective brings performance, teaching and production together. A whole artist catalogue should not be assigned here automatically. <ref name="southamerica2026-ims-castanheiro">IMS, Castanheiro e seus garotos convidam Forró das Minas (2023). Acoustic forró has a broad northeastern social base and separated adopted circuits. Two overlapping northeastern fields express inland and Agreste continuity without assigning chart dominance to heritage visibility. The southeastern and DF fields represent established production and participation.

The fields express editorial judgments about relative musical affinity and reach, not measured audience shares. Radius is the zero edge of a linear fade; same-genre overlaps combine by maximum.
