== Summary ==

Dhofari bar’ah is a music and dance practice of southern Oman, associated with the Dhofari valleys and surrounding communities. It is distinct from northern Omani al-ayyala and other Dhofari forms.<ref>[https://ich.unesco.org/en/RL/al-barah-music-and-dance-of-oman-dhofari-valleys-00372 UNESCO — Al-Bar’ah, music and dance of Oman’s Dhofari valleys].</ref>

== Contemporary and trending ==

The listening collection includes identified current and worthwhile earlier performances. Paired dancers, daggers, coordinated steps and drum-and-wind accompaniment shape traditional presentations. Contemporary vocal recordings identified as bar’ah offer additional listening entrances; tabal, sharh and other forms are not renamed bar’ah.

== History ==

Local community transmission and folk ensembles sustain bar’ah in social and public settings. UNESCO documentation emphasizes differences among practicing groups rather than a single standardized national performance.<ref>[https://ich.unesco.org/en/RL/al-barah-music-and-dance-of-oman-dhofari-valleys-00372 UNESCO — Al-Bar’ah, music and dance of Oman’s Dhofari valleys].</ref>
