Summary

Seto leelo is a multipart singing tradition of Seto communities, strongly tied to language, poetry and shared cultural identity. Urban Seto groups provide lighter separated or peripheral participation, linked through migration and association life. Related genres

Leelo connects with the wider Finnic runosong environment while retaining its own Seto language, multipart organization and social meaning. Large national song-festival choirs are not the same practice merely because many people sing together. Lithuanian sutartinės offer another Baltic multipart comparison with a different rhythmic and textural logic.
