Template:MuGlobe/region
This is the published first-pass outline for Region articles on MuGlobe.com, extrapolated from Ed's Country template at his request on October 17, 2026.
Required sections must contain substantive text. Optional sections may be omitted; when included they must contain substantive text. Keep sections in the listed order. Subheadings are allowed within each section. Cite sources and use representative musical examples where available.
- Summary: Introduce the area's musical character, approximate boundaries, internal diversity and communities.
- Contemporary and trending: Describe current listening, performance and emerging developments, with a place and time context.
- History: Explain musical development, migration and exchange.
- Genres: Introduce associated styles and link relevant genre articles.
- Artists: Introduce representative musicians and groups, past and present, explaining their connections to the region.
These are editable editorial guidelines. Existing articles retain their recorded template version until deliberately migrated.
Boundary research and footnotes — October 18, 2026
Ed requested that region definition and article writing proceed together. The final two required sections are:
- Boundary definition and research: Explain the recognized cultural/geographic basis, evidence for the extent and distinction from adjoining areas, urban/suburban/rural differences, cross-border continuity and overlaps. Identify the boundary source and the specific cartographic proxy or interpretation used by MuGlobe. Separate historical identity from evidence of current reception. Cite supporting source findings using native <ref> footnotes.
- Footnotes: Render the article's native reference list with <references />. Related geographic and listening citations belong here, not in an unconnected bibliography.
New articles use this version. Existing articles retain their historical bindings until deliberately revised; this publication does not rewrite them.
