Summary

Henry Freitas is a Brazilian singer whose work combines Forró with elements of funk, trap and pop. His projects belong to the hybrid end of Contemporary Forró, where live spectacle and changing production are part of the musical identity.[1]

Life and career

In discussing his first audiovisual project, Tudo Vira Terapia, Freitas described mixture as a defining feature of his approach. The project title also identifies a performance world in which different repertoires are brought into one show, rather than a single inherited rhythm.[1]

Music and style

Electronic textures, dance grooves and a lead-vocal focus coexist with forró foundations. As with Felipe Amorim, the mixture needs to be described concretely: funk or trap elements in one arrangement do not explain every other recording. Collaborations with sertanejo performers likewise require attention to the song and version.

Works and performances

Tudo Vira Terapia and 'Me Fala Qual Necessidade' provide routes into his recorded work. Comparing these with more traditional accordion-centered projects shows the breadth of the contemporary scene without suggesting that every form has the same instrumentation.[1]
