Mangambeu is a western Cameroonian song-and-dance repertoire especially associated with Bangangté and the Ndé area. Local ensemble and association practice coexist with amplified popular interpretations. The term therefore covers more than one stage arrangement while retaining a specific regional musical identity. Related genres

Bend-skin shares western-community and urban social worlds but has a distinct history. Makossa and Congolese Rumba belong to the wider popular-band environment in which Mangambeu interpreters have worked. A shared performer or instrument does not make the styles synonyms. [27] [3]
