Summary

Aviões do Forró is a Brazilian band formed in Fortaleza in 2002 and closely identified with singers Xand Avião and Solange Almeida. Its amplified ensemble and contrasting lead voices are important to the history of Forró eletrônico.[1]

History

The band developed through Northeastern shows, recordings and a growing national audience. Its activities included touring, television and events also attended by sertanejo audiences. The later solo careers of its best-known singers form a subsequent chapter, not a reason to replace the group's historical identity with one person's name.[1]

Music and repertoire

Accordion, keyboards, brass, electric rhythm instruments and prominent singing supported romantic and party-oriented material. 'Pode Chorar', 'Chupa que é de Uva' and 'Lei da Vida' offer different routes into the catalogue. The band's place in Contemporary Forró predates the later piseiro boom.[1]

Members and collaborators

Xand and Solange were central lead singers, supported by a larger instrumental and vocal ensemble. Dates and project credits matter as personnel and billing changed. Xand's later account of the shared forró and piseiro festival circuit helps connect this history with a younger generation without treating every act as the same band.[2]
