Summary
Quophi Okyeame, earlier known as Okyeame Quophi, is a Ghanaian rapper, songwriter and producer associated with Akyeame. His work extends from the duo's hiplife recordings into writing and production for other performers.[1]
Life and career
He developed Akyeame with Okyeame Kwame, moving through live competitions and recording into a nationally recognized duo. After their separation, his activities included music production, video direction and broadcasting. Later interviews explain the reordered stage name as part of a changing professional identity.[1][2]
Music and style
Akyeame's work placed rap within Ghanaian language and expressive traditions, with song and arrangement serving the duo's communicative role. Quophi's later songwriting continues that creative activity through other singers' recordings. In a 2018 interview he specifically identified writing as an ongoing part of his musicianship.[3]
Works and performances
Akyeame songs such as 'Masan Aba', 'Asa Aba So' and 'Menko Medo' provide entry points into his earlier performance work. The 2018 interview names Becca's 'Sumie', from Unveiling, as an example of later songwriting. Those different kinds of credits make it possible to follow his career beyond appearances under his own stage name.[1][3]
