Summary
Pinoy rock is a broad route through Philippine rock, alternative bands and selected guitar-led folk-pop crossings. It supplies local band repertoires alongside contemporary pop, rap, regional-language song and continuing older traditions.
Contemporary and trending
The current listening route brings identified local releases and performances into the station alongside continuing familiar repertoire. IV of Spades, Ben&Ben, Dilaw, Lola Amour, Zild, Unique Salonga, Urbandub and December Avenue provide contrasting routes. Newer discovery is a priority, while worthwhile older recordings remain playable. A streaming or festival appearance demonstrates circulation in that setting; it is not converted into a measured national audience share.[1]
History
Multiple generations of bands developed through clubs, recording, radio and later online performance. Current local band releases and familiar earlier songs remain active listening options. A newer video upload does not turn an established recording into a new composition.
Musical characteristics
Guitar, bass, drums and ensemble dynamics organize much of the route, with acoustic textures and keyboard colors in some songs. Urbandub’s heavier dynamics differ from IV of Spades’ guitar-oriented pop, Zild’s alternative writing and Ben&Ben’s larger folk-pop arrangements.
Geography and communities
Manila, Cebu, Baguio and other cities participate in connected but distinct live and recording networks. Provincial listeners encounter nationally circulating songs too. Regional stations retain these contemporary options while changing the role of local-language and inherited repertoires.
Artists
IV of Spades, Ben&Ben, Dilaw, Lola Amour, Zild, Unique Salonga, Urbandub and December Avenue provide contrasting routes. Maki’s song titled “Dilaw” is distinct from the band Dilaw; the recording identity determines its classification.
Recording entrances
IV of Spades — IV of Spades perform "Mundo" LIVE on Wish 107.5 Bus[2]; IV OF SPADES — IV OF SPADES - Konsensya (Official Music Video)[3]. These are particular versions, not a claim that every work by the same performer belongs here.
