Summary
Spiritbox is a Canadian band connecting metalcore and progressive metal with melodic singing, electronic textures and tightly controlled heavy arrangements.[1]
Contemporary and trending
The second album, Tsunami Sea, appeared on 7 March 2025. Its tracks include 'Perfect Soul', 'Soft Spine' and 'No Loss, No Love'.[2]
History
Courtney LaPlante and Mike Stringer formed the group in Victoria, British Columbia, in 2017. 'Holy Roller' widened its audience in 2020, followed by the debut album Eternal Blue in 2021 through Pale Chord and Rise Records.[1]
Music and repertoire
The band's official account names djent and post-metal among the heavy resources of Eternal Blue, alongside synthesizer-based pop and cinematic arrangement. LaPlante's movement between clear melody and harsher delivery gives those contrasts a vocal center. These influences help explain why the group appears in both metalcore and progressive-metal listening contexts: the labels describe overlapping aspects of its rhythm, timbre and arrangement, not separate fixed repertoires.[1]

Members and collaborators
LaPlante supplies lead vocals and Stringer guitar and production. Tsunami Sea was produced by Stringer and longtime collaborator Dan Braunstein, mixed by Zakk Cervini and mastered by Ted Jensen. These credits distinguish the band's performing roles from the wider studio team.[3]
