Muglobe is being built as a public music encyclopedia and discovery platform.

Anyone may read. Free accounts use the shared Muglobe account service. Registration does not automatically grant permission to edit: an administrator explicitly approves editors in the wiki's approved-editor group.

Developing an article

Use the visual editor or source editor. Add references with the citation tools, explain substantive changes, and discuss unresolved questions on the article's discussion page. The history records successive revisions and attribution.

The current organizing dimensions are time, popularity and reach, relationship to place, social setting and function, and cultural identity. Popularity descriptions should identify an audience, place and period. Cultural identity is descriptive; it does not rank cultural worth.

Musical regions and geographic genre overlays remain separately authored map data. Editing prose does not regenerate boundaries or mushroom fields.

Copyright and contributions

MuGlobe's original articles and other original content are protected by copyright. See Copyright and permissions. Third-party material retains its copyright holders and credited licenses; MuGlobe does not claim ownership of it.

Only submit material you own or are permitted to contribute, with the required sources, credits and permissions. Approved-editor status and editing do not themselves transfer copyright. Outside contributors must have an applicable contribution agreement in place before submitting original writing.
