[[Ahellil]]: Ahellil continues through community practice, associations and public presentation. At Timimoun’s December 2025 festival, prizes recognized local groups from Timimoun and Ouled-Saïd and instrumental practitioners Boudjemaa Agmassine and M’hamed Dahmi. Participants also called for multilingual digital documentation. This is direct evidence of current activity; it does not establish the frequency of ordinary oasis performances. <ref name="africa-recovery-dz-ahellil-2025">[https://news.radioalgerie.dz/fr/node/76745 APS / Radio Algérienne, Clôture de la 17e édition du Festival culturel national d’Ahellil, 28 December 2025]. Access note: Full public indexed article read; no recordings examined.</ref>
[[Ahellil]]: Mohamed Bakada, known as Babihi, was honored posthumously at the 2025 festival. Named contemporary instrumental practitioners in that report include Boudjemaa Agmassine and M’hamed Dahmi. The Timimoun folklore association, Taoumet and Ouled-Saïd’s Tigourarine show the collective organizational side of the practice. A festival award list is a dated set of examples, not an exhaustive hierarchy of oasis musicians. <ref name="africa-recovery-dz-ahellil-2025" />

== Boundary definition and research ==
Algeria: Algeria, with differentiated northern, oasis and trans-Saharan overlaps. Country-outline overview at the broad national tier. More specific researched regional/community frames take precedence for regional associations; national political borders are not musical walls. <ref name="africa-recovery-africa2026-dz-rai" /> <ref name="africa-recovery-africa2026-dz-chaoui-scholar" /> <ref name="africa-recovery-africa2026-dz-kabyle" /> <ref name="africa-recovery-africa2026-dz-ahellil" />
