== Summary ==

Timok Vlach music covers the song and dance practices of Vlach communities in eastern Serbia, including contemporary local-language entertainment and instrumental dance music. Here Vlach refers specifically to the eastern Serbian, Timok Romanian-speaking context. It is not a blanket label for every Aromanian, Romanian or other Eastern Romance musical tradition.<ref>[https://www.oeaw.ac.at/vlach/collections/romanian-varieties/timok-romanian-vlach Austrian Academy of Sciences: Timok Romanian/Vlach]. == Contemporary and trending ==

Staniša Radosavljević Piki, Staniša Paunović, Goran Stojkić Goci and instrumentalists such as Vitomir Stanojević provide distinct recorded routes. Broadcast and artist publications include local-language songs alongside named dance pieces. Electronic amplification and popular arrangements coexist with older vocal and instrumental repertoires; community music is not confined to an archival or ritual past.

== History ==

Language, local settlement, celebrations and migration connect the eastern Serbian communities. The Austrian Academy of Sciences documents the Timok Romanian/Vlach language context and post-1960s migration links to western Europe. Those links explain a wider potential reception without making every emigrant locality an automatically mapped strong musical centre.<ref>[https://www.oeaw.ac.at/vlach/collections/romanian-varieties/timok-romanian-vlach Austrian Academy of Sciences: Timok Romanian/Vlach]. == Musical characteristics ==

The collection alternates named vocal songs with instrumental dance pieces, including violin and accordion-led arrangements. Local dance labels such as batuta and named kola should retain their identities instead of all being relabelled doina. Doina is a more specific expressive form and cannot serve as a substitute for the complete contemporary song-and-dance world.

== Geography and communities ==

Timok, Homolje and eastern Danube communities form a connected but nonuniform landscape around places including Bor, Negotin, Kučevo and surrounding settlements. The fields are an approximation of musical affinity, not an ethnic census map. They fade before covering all Serbia, while national popular listening remains present in the same eastern regions.

Staniša Radosavljević Piki, Staniša Paunović, Goran Stojkić Goci, Vitomir Stanojević and their credited collaborators supply the queue. A Serbian-language pop-folk recording is not assigned here merely because its singer comes from eastern Serbia; the particular language, repertoire and arrangement must support the association.
