== Musical characteristics ==

Open vocal delivery, flexible phrasing and local speech are important listening features. Unaccompanied renditions and arranged versions reveal different aspects of the same repertoire.

== Geography and communities ==

Yulin, Yan’an and connected northern Shaanxi communities form the core landscape, with transitional connections toward neighboring plateau areas. Xi’an is an adopted performance connection rather than the whole tradition’s origin.

== Artists ==

Wang Xiangrong, He Guofeng and Du Pengpeng are documented routes into the repertoire; named works and actual performers anchor selections.
