History
Regional accounts distinguish the tamunangue complex from the golpe. Migration and organized performance carry these practices into neighbouring regions without removing their Lara reference points. <ref name="southamerica2026-ve-lara">Fundación Bigott, Lara: donde la brisa sopla con rima; 2023 republication of 1998 article. == Genres ==
Tamunangue and Joropo are distinct gateways here. Golpe tocuyano remains a named regional practice; sones within tamunangue are not each presented as an independent regional genre. Merengue venezolano and Salsa connect wider listening.

El Tocuyo archival ensembles, Alma de Lara and community teachers provide different routes into the repertoire. The selected archival son represents one part of a larger ceremonial sequence. <ref name="southamerica2026-ve-tamun-folkways">Smithsonian Folkways, Afro-Venezuelan Music volumes I and II, 2013 reissue notes. == Boundary definition and research ==
This outline follows a connected Lara landscape and overlaps broader Venezuelan selections. It is not an ethnic border and does not equate a whole state with one devotional tradition.

Approximate lara and el tocuyo musical networks, following connected musical communities. Land-clipped editorial listening landscape; overlaps are intentional.
