The eastern Himalayan hills have sustained musicians whose audiences cross national borders. Bipul Chettri’s artist account connects his songwriting to Kalimpong and Darjeeling and documents performances in both India and Nepal. Film labels and independent artists both contribute to Bengali song circulation. SVF's catalogue explicitly includes film and non-film releases, showing why contemporary Bengali listening should not be confined to film soundtracks alone.

Bipul Chettri's songwriting connects with Kalimpong and Darjeeling, while Anmol Gurung and Adrian Pradhan offer further Nepali-language song routes. Shared listening across India and Nepal brings these artists into conversation without making every recording India-origin. Anupam Roy moves between film songwriting and independent releases, while Fossils and Chandrabindoo represent contrasting band approaches. Rupam Islam, Anindya Chatterjee, Upal Sengupta and Lagnajita Chakraborty add recognizable voices to the wider Bengali popular-song landscape.
