History
Named metropolitan performance and production networks give rap, bands and electronic music stronger emphasis. The disjoint footprint keeps this urban emphasis separate from the national routes that also serve smaller towns and countryside. Historical origin, later production centers and adopted listening are separate relationships; the linked genre articles explain the traditions and recording circuits in more detail.

Genres
Mandopop; Chinese hip-hop; Chinese rock and indie; Chinese indie folk; Chinese electronic music.

Artists
The genre articles introduce named performers and ensembles. In the player, each recording retains the particular performer and version; a broadcaster or uploader is not automatically the musician.

Boundary definition and research
The footprint approximates the connected networks described above using the existing hosted land geometry. Overlap allows a location to retain national, regional and community routes together. The boundary does not assert an abrupt musical change between neighboring households.
