== Musical characteristics ==

Sustained singing and lyrical ornament may accompany electronic, orchestral or small-ensemble arrangements. Its relationship with folk idioms does not make every composed song an urtiin duu.

== Geography and communities ==

Research describes particularly strong rural associations and contrasting urban youth tastes. Migration and family networks also bring this repertoire into the capital. The programme therefore gives it substantial provincial and countryside presence without excluding it from cities.

== Artists ==

Javkhlan, Bayasgalan, Dalantai, Tuvshinjargal, Erdenetsetseg, Batsaikhan and Erdenetungalag provide a range of voices and duet settings. Credits retain the actual singer rather than substituting the songwriter.
