== Summary ==

Kihnu song and dance music brings together the living music of Kihnu and Manija, including older song, social dance, instrumental transmission and identifiable locally authored popular songs.

== Contemporary and trending ==

Community teaching, music camps and contemporary performances sustain the repertoire. Kihnu Virve’s authored songs and Kihnu Poisid recordings are included as local popular music, not mislabelled as anonymous ancient song.<ref>[https://ich.unesco.org/en/RL/kihnu-cultural-space-00042 UNESCO: Kihnu cultural space].</ref>
