== Summary ==

Kazakh song of western Mongolia includes dombra-accompanied singing, local popular song and contemporary recordings connected with Bayan-Ölgii. It describes a living regional repertoire rather than assuming all Kazakh music comes from Kazakhstan.

Local singers and groups circulate homeland songs, love songs and newer popular arrangements. Their music shares wider Kazakh connections while preserving names and places meaningful to Mongolian Kazakh communities.<ref>[https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/17411910701276369 Jennifer C. == History ==

Ethnographic research shows how singing and instrument-making express relationships with the western Mongolian landscape.

== Musical characteristics ==

Dombra-accompanied song differs from instrumental kuy; contemporary electronic arrangements add another route into the same regional musical public.

== Geography and communities ==

Ölgii, Sagsai, Tsengel and surrounding communities form the principal listening frame. This does not assign a language or musical preference to every resident. Shared Mongolian pop and other national listening remain present alongside Kazakh repertoire.

== Artists ==

Sagim Beibitshilikqyzy, Nur group, Nurbek, Aigul Erenqyzy and other specifically credited local singers appear in the recording selection. Where a source identifies community and repertoire but omits a name, that uncertainty remains visible.
