== Summary ==

French R&B is an overlapping song and production scene connecting contemporary R&B vocals with French popular listening. Selected works also draw on Afro-pop, Caribbean dance rhythms and melodic rap. Afro-love is a performer-used expression associated with Tayc’s approach; it does not name all African music or every song by an African-descended artist.<ref>[https://www.radiofrance.fr/mouv/soolking-et-tayc-font-leur-valise-direction-l-amour-dans-le-clip-bye-bye-7936900 Mouv’: Soolking and Tayc, a new R&B generation]</ref>

Aya Nakamura, Tayc, Dadju, Franglish, Ronisia and Imen Es illustrate different voices within the present scene. Their specific songs range from restrained melodic delivery to rhythmic dance-pop. The selection includes recent publications and established songs, with no automatic Current hit or MuGlobe favourite endorsement.<ref>[https://www.stadefrance.com/fr/le-stade/rb Stade de France: R&B concerts, Aya Nakamura]</ref>

== History ==

American R&B is one reference point within a French musical world already shaped by migration, Antillean music and African popular circulation. These relationships produced new works and publics rather than a simple opposition between imported music and French culture.<ref>[https://musee.sacem.fr/index.php/ExhibitionCMS/ExhibitionCMS/View?id=5900 Musée SACEM: Musiques du monde, musiques de France]</ref>

== Musical characteristics ==

Listen for sustained or ornamented vocals, repeated melodic hooks, layered harmonies and interaction with programmed rhythm. Some selected songs approach rap through phrasing; others foreground dance patterns and sung refrains. A complete compas or zouk work can retain its own association instead of being absorbed into R&B because of its singer.

== Geography and communities ==

A stronger metropolitan field represents production, collaboration and denser audiences, while a lower broad landscape keeps this repertoire present outside large cities. Cultural networks overlap with general popular listening. The map does not infer ethnicity from a location, and it does not assign one musical preference to every member of a community.

== Artists ==

The recording list names actual lead and featured performers. In this first selection, Ronisia and Imen Es complement the better-known male Afro-love voices and Aya Nakamura’s dance-oriented repertoire. Broader Francophone music remains available through related genres.
