== Summary ==

Estonian and Lithuanian choral song connects mass song celebrations, community choirs and concert ensembles. The two countries have distinct languages and repertoires, retained in separate local listening selections.

== Contemporary and trending ==

Recent song-celebration performances sit alongside earlier recordings and smaller ensembles. Authored concert works and folk-song arrangements both contribute to living choral practice.<ref>[https://ich.unesco.org/en/RL/the-baltic-song-and-dance-celebrations-00087 UNESCO: Baltic song and dance celebrations].</ref>

== History ==

The Baltic song-celebration tradition joins extensive local preparation with large periodic gatherings. Choral culture is sustained by many community ensembles between the headline celebrations.<ref>[https://2025.laulupidu.ee/en/ Estonian Song and Dance Celebration 2025].</ref>

== Musical characteristics ==

Massed unison and multipart singing, layered harmonies and conductorial shaping range from intimate choral textures to large outdoor sound. Dance-only recordings are not substituted for choir performances.

== Geography and communities ==

Tallinn and Vilnius host major national gatherings, while singers and local choirs connect the surrounding towns and countryside. Shared Baltic heritage does not make Estonian and Lithuanian recordings interchangeable.

== Artists ==

Song-celebration choirs, the Estonian National Male Choir and Lithuania’s Ąžuoliukas appear alongside other credited ensembles and collaborators.
