Summary
Dorgival Dantas is a Brazilian accordionist, singer, songwriter and producer whose career connects Traditional Forró with modern bands and national popular song. His work is a particularly clear bridge between instrumental inheritance and Contemporary Forró.

Life and career
Dantas learned accordion from his father and later added keyboard. Work in bands and production took him into the Ceará music industry. His songs were recorded by artists across the forró and sertanejo circuits, while his own performances retained the accordion as a central musical voice.

Music and style
Songwriting is as important to his influence as his individual performances. A composition can move through a traditional arrangement, a romantic electronic band and a sertanejo interpretation without those recordings becoming identical in style. 'Você Não Vale Nada', recorded by Calcinha Preta, is a concrete example of that circulation.

Works and performances
Simplesmente Dorgival Dantas and Minha Música, Nossa História bring his compositions and collaborations together. Guests include Xand Avião, Solange Almeida, Flávio José and Elba Ramalho. Comparing these performances reveals a musical network held together by songs, not a set of exclusive artist categories.
