Summary
Solange Almeida is a Brazilian singer who became widely known as a lead vocalist of Aviões do Forró alongside Xand Avião. Her later solo career extends from that electronic forró background into a wider popular repertoire.

Life and career
Almeida sang in several groups before joining Aviões in 2002. Her partnership with Xand gave the band two contrasting lead voices. She subsequently announced a solo career, with Sentimento de Mulher and Sol Sunset documenting the new phase.

Music and style
A strong projecting voice, romantic expression and the ability to carry large-ensemble arrangements connect her band work with later performances. Collaborations bring different popular-music settings into the catalogue. This breadth is compatible with her importance to Contemporary Forró, without requiring every solo track to share the band's earlier style.

Works and performances
Aviões recordings provide one listening route; Sentimento de Mulher offers another, with guests from several Brazilian popular scenes. The change in credit matters: a Solange Almeida solo recording, a guest appearance by Xand, and a historical Aviões performance are not the same ensemble.
